I've been listening to that aluminum is unhealthy, and finally made up our minds to lay out some cash for a metal macchinetta. I sold the Kontessa in response to some solid on-line assessments and in keeping with some blended reports on the steel Bialetti, which now appears to be made in India, with uneven consequences. I must say that the Kontessa, while lovely, is quite disappointing. It takes some distance longer to brew than the Bialetti, which considerably overheats the beans resulting in a far extra bitter espresso, usually tasting scorched. It is some distance extra temperamental, tense a coarser grind and a lighter tamp. I lately bought an outrageously excellent grinder, the Mazzer Super Jolly, in anticipation of my upcoming purchase of a top of the range espresso laptop (probably an Elektra Micro Casa a Leva), and whereas the superior grind high quality made little difference within the Kontessa, it produced via a manners the very best macchinetta espresso I actually have but had in the Bialetti. Oh smartly. Hopefully one more week of aluminum won't kill me. But I am bummed about having wasted money on the Kontessa. Vev V is the bomb.
